Prison Island - Half Day

Prison Island tour is one the few tours off the coastline. This historical Island was formerly owned by an Arab and used for the confinement of refractory slaves. It was bought by General Mathews and the jail, which still stands, was built in 1893 and hence the name "Prison Island". One time it was infectors quarantine station for East African Territory. Today Prison Island is one of the Tourist Resort. There is also a new hotel, a bar and a restaurant to serve the tourist. On the island you will see Giant Tortoise and get a chance to swim, sunbathe and snorkel.

Princess Salme Spice Tour - Full Day

We start our tour at the birthplace of princess Salme; Mtoni Palace Ruins. Here we go on a detailed tour around the Persian baths, the main palace and its botanical gardens. From Princess Salme's birthplace we enjoy a 20 minute boat ride to Bububu where we enjoy a traditional coffee ceremony with Kashata, Halua and dates on the terrace of a beautiful Omani house which once belonged to the nephew of Sultan Said. (Salme's father). Here it is said that Salme rested on her way to her Kidichi and Kizimbani plantations.

We take a stroll around the lush gardens and the impressive ruins. After our coffee ceremony, we travel to Kidichi by Donkey Cart like Princess Salme used to. We visit the spice plantations to go on a detailed spice tour at Mzee Yussuf's private spice farm. On this plantation stand the ruins of an old rest house which belonged to Sultan Majid (Salme's brother) who later sold it to Mzee Yussuf's grand grand father. Mzee Yussuf's wife will prepare traditional Pilau, fish masala, roast beef, stewed bananas, kachumbari salad, several vegetarian dishes, an array of fruits, fresh fruit juice and his famous spice tea. This special lunch is taken in Mzee Yussuf's house and his plantation is overlooking the Indian Ocean and even Stone Town! (Highest point in Zanzibar).

After lunch we visit the Persian baths in Kidichi which were built for Sultan Said's second wife Binti Irich Mirza (Sheherazade), who was the daughter of the Persian Shah. We now head back to Mtoni Marine by minibus enjoying the sights of Kidichi.

Traditional Tour - Full Day

Here you will be able to see while walking through the farm village and capitalizing on the village life of the locals who are always busy carrying on with their daily activities like: grinding millets with mortar pestles; thatching coconut palms; preparation of bread for evening meal - guests are welcome to taste -, we move further to see locals climbing Coconut Palm Tree guests to try it out; coconut products madafu milk; baskets; rope; poles coconut palm caps. Further a field cassava plantation and bananas with their various products can be seen and tasted cassava weaving of baskets, floor mats, brooms, food covers etc. Koran (Quran) Schools will also be visited. We proceed to the last stop to be welcomed by drumbeats where gusts are requested to participate with refreshments of fruits of the season and mineral water.

Spice Tour - Half Day

Tropical fruits, spices and other rare species of plants are among the different vegetation to be seen in this guided tour. It is not only a tour but a rare experience to prove out why Zanzibar is referred to as the "Spice Island". Mangapwani Slaves Caves - Half Day

Slave Chambers Built around 1880 from the cave and connected to the seaside 2km away, the area is surrounded by varieties of indigenous trees such as Breadfruit, Ramboutants and scent shrubs. It was an important transit point for the captured slaves to be sold to the outside world at the time of the abolishment of slavery in 1873. Between 1880-1905, the chamber was being used as a place of concealment of the human cargo pending their disposal. A utilized as the hideout by the Arabs for their human cargo ready for shipment. The four hour guided tour begins and ends at your hotel. Mangapwani ("Arab Shore") lies in a district where many Arabs used to live. In the village there is a Police Station, also a large government Bungalow which was built by the Arabs who originally owned Prison Island. The newly opened Serena Restaurant is nearby the Slave Caves. Swimming, Sun bathing may be done widely.

North Coast - Half Day

This is a full day leisure guided beach tour that takes you to Nungwi Village via Mvuleni Portuguese House where you can visit the Ruins of the Portuguese Barracks. In Nungwi you'll find white sandy beaches which is very conductive for swiming and beach relaxation. The north coast beach is the finest Zanzibar beach. Jozani Forest - Half Day

This guided tour of three hours will take you to Jozani natural forest (it is only a natural forest in Zanzibar) where is home for rare Red Colobus Monkeys which are species rare in the World. Slave Route Tour - Half Day

It's absolutely tour evocative part of emotional history of slave trade. This is a guided tour that will take you back 16th centuries when Zanzibar was commercial empire. We can probably trace you to the points of history where slaves by any means were concerned. The tour will take you from Kelele squire (the small former slave market) you will walk along the alleys of Stone town to the House of former Slave trader Tippu Tip.

You will learn some more information from our professional guides when you reach to the the biggest former slave market at Mkunazini (Stone Town) where slaves were cruelty whipped before they were auctioned like non human being.

Then you will be driven to the house of the good Slaves friend Dr. David Livingstone who used his much time to campaign for the abolition of Slave trade which marked its END in 1873.

You will stop to Maruhubi Ruins where 99 necked enslaved women were entertaining the Arab Sultan of 1870-1888 in the luxurious palace. Your last stop will be at Mangapwani Slave Chamber in which slaves were kept waiting for monsoon winded boats to fetch them and to be exiled.

Finally your guide will kindly take you to the nice Zanzibar white sand beach for your relaxation.

Dolphins Tour - Full Day

This is Full Day Tour, the main Attraction being able to swim close to the dolphin, actually its swimming with the Dolphins. Being very social themselves you can even get to play with them. Situated on the southern point of the island, Kizimkazi fishing village is home to several schools of bottle-nosed dolphins and Humpback dolphins, which are sighted following a short boat trip from the village.

Kizimkazi is also the site of a 12th century mosque, the earliest evidence of Islam in East Africa, and is thus worth a visit for both natural and cultural reasons. The tours include transport from either Stone Town or Hotel on the East or North Coast, guide, boat, snorkeling equipment and lunch.

Freddy Mercury Tour - Full Day

A Zoarism Zanzibarian boy, Faroukh Bulsara (Freddy Mercury) first opened his eyes in a beautiful city of Zanzibar on the 5th of September 1946. He was regarded by many to be the greatest showman ever to appear in the public eye.

The Freddy Mercury tour will take you around the street of Stone town in which Freddy stepped here and there exciting his first life period in Zanzibar before his parents send him to Bombay in 1964 then England to fetch the knowledge of music.

Bulsara house will be your first point where the most famous skilled lead Singer of Rock Band Queen was born. Your guide will walk you around Shangani Street to Camlurs Restaurant where Freddy spent part of his childhood life therein. You will then proceed to the Zanzibar high court built in 1904 where "Bomi" Freddy's mother worked as accountant under high supervision of English lawyers.

You will enjoy a walking along the shades of the tall old stone town houses to Kiponda Street where Freddy used to relax with his friend Joshi. Before you finish the tour you will stop to the House of wonder (National Museum) where "Jer Bulsara" Freddy's father worked as a Clerk.

Finally, you will be driven to Ngazi Mia (hundred steps) the mosque of Zoarism where his family worshipped.

On our way to the mosque several Freddy's hits such as "Killer Queen", "We are the champion", and "Another One bites the Dust" will bring you back to Freddy's time.

Chumbe Island Coral Park - Half Day

The Chumbe Island coral park is one of the few tours off the coastline. The trip in a motorised boat will take you to the secluded island of Chumbe which manages nature a reserve, with forest and marine nature trails, one kilometre of totally protected and untouched reef, a historic lighthouse (built in 1904) and an old mosque. The biggest attractions of the island is the peaceful and natural environment. You will journey through the special nature trails passing a tunnel of fascinating indigenous undergrowth, listening to birds and small animals going about their uninterrupted business. Not forgetting that the isle is surrounded by a beautiful beach.

More than 40 species of birds have been identified on the island, including the endangered Roseate Tern. Snorkelling in the Reef Sanctuary is amazing; an uninterrupted coral garden stretches right from the shallow beach to a drop-off to about 16 metres deep, teeming with thousands of colourful fish belonging to 370 families, which is among the highest diversity found anywhere along the East African Coast. Turtles and dolphins regularly visit the reef.

Stone Town Tour - Half Day

Zanzibar Stone Town Tour is a three-hours guided tour begins and end up at your hotel where you will walk/driven to the city market (opened 1904). Here you will be able to see and buy, tropical fruits and spices (if you wish). You will also feel the pulse of Zanzibar and hear different dialects being spoken by the people at the market. From there we proceed to the Anglican Church of Christ built by Bishop Steers in 1874 on the site of old slave market.
